“ Very nice little neighborhood market. They have the best Beef Lumpia that I have had. They cooked up 50 for and it was outstanding. The store owner said she is in the process of redoing and upgrading the menu. Large selection of frozen and shelf items, but you have to get there early to get the fresh fish , they do sell out fast. Stop by and take a look, you wont be disappointed. Nothing fancy just a nice little neighborhood market. ”
“ I just went there yesterday. O.m.g!! I got some rolls that had purple yam in it and my sister got the ones that had coconut in it. It was amazing!!!! The texture bwas like super soft and doughy bread but it tastes like a donut! Oh! I am ashamed to say I ate 3. It was so cool to see dessert from another culture. “ BEST pandesal in the 757, if not the entire east coast! Im Filipino and my family has been loyally going to Manila Bread House ever since it opened in the 80s with the original owners. Whenever I have relatives coming into town from New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Florida, Texas they always bring home boxes of pandesal because its better than the Filipino bakeries in their areas even if there is a large filipino community there. I have since moved away from Norfolk, but every time I visit, I stock up and bring back dozens of pandesal because no other recipes compare. Joe and his family currently run the shop and they treat you like family. They even made my sisters wedding cake! Please support this wonderful Asian small business! ”

“ We have done a lot of business with Manila Bread over the last 45 years ... Joe and his workers has always gone on and above every time we have rolled in to town. Some times we stayed in town for 3 weeks and a couple times only a week. We went thru Norfolk 04042015 we stop to load up with many products from the store and had some great fish cooked up .... his prices are reasonable. Its seems to me there is always something new to try and it has to be some of the best home made Filipino bread on the planet , Its made fresh every day you can even phone in a head of time for special orders . Its even better than over in PI getting it fresh each morning from the market... its huge and warm and very light and taste great ... Thank you Joe for doing a great job , gbu i would just like to also say , Ive watch him deal with many different types of customers and he treats them all the same one customer at a time and I always enjoy standing back and watching him do it the joe way with a warm friendly greeting and a big smile , wish more business where like that ! so personable...... ”
